Extreme Miami was built by Nottingham UK, at the request of the Corrigan family to replace the Rock City Miami ride that had been loaned to them from Sherman Wynn for the 2000 summer season.
The ride finally arrived at their Bridlington Amusement Park after several delays in April 2001.
Early in 2005 the machine was sold to Guy & John Evans as the parked looked to free up funds for new rides
Guy & John Evans had the machine resprayed before opening the ride in 2005, the new, refreshed paintwork was well received, and the ride went on to be a seasoned regular at many grounds, including the Tewksbury Mop Fair, one of England's largest street fairs
After 8 strong years Guy & John eventually sold the machine to Marshall Hill the owner of Funland Hayling Island in 2013
Marshall Hill opened Extreme Miami at his Funland Hayling Island at the start of the 2013 season. The ride became an instant hit with the punters.
At the end of the 2022 season, Marshall Hill sold the ride to raise funds required for essential repairs and refurbishment of one of the park's most popular attractions, Flume of Doom.
The ride was purchased by Evan Moran Jnr in December 2022 and enabled Marshall to carry out the works needed in the park
Evan Moran Jnr removed the ride from the park, and his first act was to completely refurbish the ride, however with an agreed loan back deal in place for the 2023 Season, with Hayling, only half the ride was resprayed.
On the completion of the loan, the ride returned to Normanton for completion of the works. Over the period of refurbishments, the machine had received a completely new control system, a brand new 16 seater gondolas and was completely re-themed.
Once the work was completed at the end of January, the ride was put up for sale.
Evan Moran Jnr sold the ride in March 2024, as he moved onto a new venture with the acquisition of Thunderbolt later that year from the defunct Flambards Theme park.
John Birch jnr became the new owner and the ride made its debut at the Easter fair in Hamstead Heath.
After failing to find established and regular grounds for the Machine by early 2025, it was sold to Albert Evans.
Extreme Miami has only opened at a handful of grounds so far with Albert Evans, but has already found winter work at Darren Matthews Winter Wonderland in Stoke.
The future of the Machine in 2026 is uncertain, as during the last part of 2025, Albert downgraded his ride inventory to just Atmosphere Creator and the Miami.
It is expected that the Machine is likely to be sold around mid-2026
*Extreme Miami is one of the machines that forms the World of Fun, a brand owned and operated by Albert Evans often open in Hull, Leeds and Boston area
*After the refurbishment was completed by Evan Moran, the ride returned to Funland, Hayling Island, on loan for the remainder of the 2023 season.
*The original artwork was done by the master of Airbrush, the late Paul Wright
